Easter in the Bay of Quinte – Hop to it!

It’s almost time to Hop into Easter in the Bay of Quinte! The weekend of April 1st (and we’re not foolin’ ya 😉 ), the Easter Bunny will be hopping all over the region and we wanted to let you know about some of the events that are “hoppenning” – ok we’re punned out we promise. Here we go….

Kick off the weekend by loading up at The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte Bake Sale, held at the Kanhiote Library, 1658 York Road (upper floor) on Friday, March 30, from 9 am – 2 pm. Pies, cookies, tarts, cupcakes and MORE!

Next, your going to want to head to Grills Orchards on Saturday, March 31st for their very first scavenger hunt!  Look for clues around the farm and see what the Easter Bunny has left for you – we mean your kids ;). To book your guided Scavenger Hunt including BBQ, crafts and games for the kids, call 613-968-6757 or message Grills Orchards on Facebook! $10 per child. Space is limited so call soon so you don’t miss out.

Promise Land Farms will also be hosting their Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31st . Doors open at 10:00am and at 10:45am, local favourite, Andy Forgie will be preforming. The Easter Egg Hunt Starts at NOON with over 12000 Eggs in three age areas 3, (3 & under), (4 – 7) and (8 -12), so every child will leave with precious finds as well as a solid milk chocolate Easter Bunny. There will be lots of activities to do before and after the hunt! Face painting, hay wagon rids, balloon artistry (10am- 2pm), meet the Easter Bunny, a cotton candy machine plus snacks will all be sold through out the event.  At 12:45pm there will be a draw for Raffle Prizes and then, sadly, the doors will close at 4:00pm. Admission for 24 months and up is $7.00. Under 24 months or non-participants are welcome with no entry charge.

And the 18th annual Batawa Easter Egg Hunt & Pancake Breakfast happens on Saturday, March 31st too! Families are invited to the Batawa Community Centre to enjoy a morning of family events including  Easter egg hunts, a pancake breakfast, a petting zoo, face painting, balloon animals, and more! Registration for both the Junior (0- 5yr) and Senior (6-10yr) egg hunters will begin on-site at 9am with the junior hunt starting at 10am and the senior hunt starting at 11:15am. Easter Egg Hunts and most activities are free with a cost of $8 for adults, $5 for kids 4 and above for the pancake breakfast. Kids under 4 eat free 🙂

And because everyone could stand to be a little sweeter 😉 Erin DeMille from Royal Sugar Baking has released her Spring menu just in time for Easter in the Bay of Quinte. How lucky we are to live here!
