Loyalist College and Green Terra Homes (GTH) are pleased to announce a facility-use agreement for the delivery of GTH’s do-it-yourself workshops, seminars and non-credit training courses on Loyalist campus for individuals wishing to construct their own home, cottage or garage.

GTH is a Quinte West-based company that builds steel-framed and energy-efficient modular prefab homes, bunkies, sheds, barns, stables, garages and cabin kits. GTH’s goal is to help Ontario families to build their dream home by making the home building process more convenient, simple and fun.

Thanks to community partners Quinte Economic Development Commission (QEDC), Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), and Trenval Business Development Corporation, a plan was formulated for the development of a consortium agreement for GTH’s use of Loyalist’s facilities to offer monthly workshops.

A variety of monthly workshops are anticipated to start in the fall. GTH will be responsible for registration and scheduling, while Loyalist will provide an assembly space and classrooms to accommodate upward of 40 participants. The average workshop fee is $300. Homes and structures constructed through the workshops will be donated to Loyalist.
