With the hot sunny days fast approaching, we’ve put together a list of events happening in the Bay of Quinte this summer. Grab your sunglasses and dive into the fun that’s available this season.

ARTS QUINTE WEST SUMMER SHOW AND SALE

Saturday, June 8 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Trent Port Marina

Viewing local art near the water is a great way to spend a relaxing Saturday. The event is put on by Arts Quinte West, a member-driven organization focused on the importance of promoting local artists with a variety of mediums.

RIDE FOR HUNGER

Sunday, June 9 @ 10:30 am – 4:00 pm
Market Square, Downtown Belleville

The Ride for Hunger is a perfect way to give back to the community while soaking up the sun and enjoying some activities in downtown Belleville. Meet at Market Square with or without a motorcycle to enjoy a silent auction, 50/50 draw, BBQ and live music by Canadian Country Artist, Danielle Bourjeaurd. All proceeds will go towards helping Gleaners Food Bank stock the shelves.

DOWNTOWN AT DUSK SUMMER SOLSTICE

Friday, June 21 @ 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Front Street, Downtown Belleville

Downtown Belleville will be lighting up the night for the Summer Solstice. Head over to the Front Street area to celebrate with live bands, lively patios, local artists and artisans booths, street performers, and of course, plenty of food. Get ready to celebrate the arrival of summer with a night filled with entertainment and food!

BELLEVILLE CANADA DAY 2019

Monday, July 1 @ 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm
West Zwick’s Park

The best way to celebrate Canada! Belleville Canada Day includes a magical night at West Zwick’s Park surrounded by family attractions, local vendors, live music, delicious food, and the best part–the magical fireworks display at 10 pm.

QUINTE WEST CANADA DAY CELEBRATIONS & FIREWORKS

Monday, July 1 @ 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
Centennial Park, Trenton

All day entertainment, vendor village, displays & demonstrations, free cake, outdoor bingo, activities for children and families and a spectacular fireworks display. Be sure to join in the ‘Canada Day Eh!’ community parade taking place from arena to the headquarters stage, beginning at 11 am. Prizes in Youth, Adult & Group categories for best expressed Canadian Spirit!

BRIGHTON CONCERTS IN THE PARK

Every Wednesday night for the month of July and August @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Memorial Park

Grab your lawn chair and dancing shoes and attend Concerts in the Park in Brighton every Wednesday evening. All of the performers are local from Brighton and Quinte areas and offer a variety of music genres. Located near downtown Brighton so you’re close to the various restaurants if you get hungry after all of that dancing.

BELLEVILLE WATERFRONT & MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL

Thursday, July 11 @ 4:00 pm – Sunday, July 14 @ 5:00 pm
West Zwick’s Park

Held along the water at West Zwick’s Park, this festival includes authentic food from over 11 countries, a vendor marketplace, midway, buskers, arts and crafts stations, a face and hair Salon, live music, a children’s village play area, Canine Watersports & Ultimutts Stunt Dog Shows, and the Quinte Craft Beer Garden featuring local brewery products.

WHEELS ON THE BAY

Friday, July 26 – Sunday, July 28
West Zwick’s Park

Wheels on the Bay will rev up your weekend with activities like the Burn Out event, Pin-Up competition, vendors alley and various unique rides like a 1969 Shelby Mustang, a Corvette Sting Ray or a 1956 Chevrolet pickup truck parked by the water. Running all weekend at West Zwick’s Centennial Park. 

BELLEVILLE POUTINE FEAST

Thursday, August 1 – Sunday, August 4 @ 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
West Zwick’s Park

If you love this Canadian favourite, you’re in for a treat. Belleville Poutine Feast is full of amazing food vendors (including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options) as well as live music, family games, and a poutine contest on Sunday.

QUINTE RIBFEST

Friday, August 9 – Sunday, August 11 @ 11:30 am – 5:30 pm
Centennial Park

Quinte Ribfest is an annual event that started 12 years ago in an effort to bring the community together through amazing food, fun and entertainment. 100% of the proceeds are donated back to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.

TYENDINAGA POW WOW

Saturday, August 10 – Sunday, August 11 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Tsi Tkerhitoton Park

Enjoy a variety of traditional songs, dance and delicious food – from traditional Indian tacos and corn soup to fries and burgers. Purchase handmade jewelry and crafts from local artisans, and take part in incredible dance, costume and music traditions.

FLW CANADA CUP

Thursday, August 15 – Saturday, August 17
Centennial Park/Fraser Park, Quinte West

The Bay of Quinte will be the site for the 2019 FLW Canada Cup for the second year in a row. This tournament is one of the most anticipated fishing events in Canada, where anglers will fish as a team and weigh in the best five bass per boat. Ashley Rae, one of our contributing writers, won last year’s tournament!

DOORS OPEN QUINTE WEST

Saturday, September 14 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Every year, Doors Open Ontario attracts residents and visitors to discover first-hand Ontario’s hidden treasures, some of which have never been open to the public before. Quinte West is now a part of the event, showing off the beautiful landscapes of rolling hills, waterfront, farmland, rich history and heritage buildings. Some of the participating locations include Trenton Town Hall 1861, Research Casting International (RCI) and Dahlia May Flower Farms. MOHAWK FAIR

Friday, September 20 – Sunday, September 22 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Mohawk Community Centre

The Mohawk Fair is the place to find traditional preserves, animal competitions and 4H demonstrations. Other events for the day include a Demolition Derby, Native Crafts, School Exhibits, Bingo, Kids Games & Races, Pet Show, Petting Zoo, 4-H Calf Club Show, Old Tyme Contests, Live Entertainment, Classic Car & Shine Show, Horseshoes, and Pony Pull. Join for an afternoon of fun and traditional culture.

FOOD TRUCKS UNITED

September 21 @ 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Centennial Park, Quinte West

It’s time to jump on the summer bites wagon! Food Trucks United is held at Centennial Park in Quinte West, providing an abundance of food options for any craving, a craft beer garden, live music, busker performances, many different vendors, and even activities available for the kids.

BRIGHTON APPLEFEST

Friday, September 26 – Sunday, September 29
King Edward Park, Brighton

Take a bite out of this event! The AppleFest event is coming back this fall to show appreciation for the many apple orchards and rich agriculture that surrounds the area of Brighton. Join the festivities downtown Brighton near King Edward Park for BBQs, children’s activities, a vintage car show, arts and crafts vendors, a parade and of course, plenty of apple-related treats to enjoy and bring home (if you don’t devour them first!).

PORCHFEST BELLEVILLE 

Saturday, September 28 @ 12:45 pm – 4:00 pm
Multiple locations, Old East Hill

Happiness is sitting on a porch with friends. Porchfest Belleville is a free community family event organized by the Rotary Club of Belleville where residents in the East Hill neighborhood perform on front porches to an audience that moves from house to house. Come by to hear local musicians play or check out the over thirty venues that will be there.
