Growing the Good: Gardening During the Coronavirus

A person holding a handful of vegetables from the garden.

Green thumb or not, gardening is a great activity to get you outside and connected to nature while staying home. Plus, you get to enjoy the (literal) fruits of your labour.

Social distancing rules have meant that we are all spending a lot more time at home, and gardening is one way to lift your spirits during isolation. My backyard and square-foot garden are looking a little unloved right now, but I’m happily doodling plans in my notebook of the bounty to come—assuming the squirrels and rabbits don’t get to it first.

Find seeds, seedlings, pots, plants, soil and everything you need to get started with these garden centres in the Bay of Quinte region. Oh, and if you don’t have any outdoor space to get growing, check out these tips for growing herbs in your window sill.

NOTE: Call ahead to confirm delivery or curbside pick-up details and availability as supplies and services may be affected by COVID-19.
