She’s High on Vibes offers unique meditation, movement and art classes for the purpose of spreading joy in the community for both youth and adults. I am a certified reiki practitioner, life coach and hula hoop instructor. My experience and knowledge allow me to deliver a fresh, fun new experience for the community in order to raise our energy individually and as a whole. I am a proud Indigenous business owner that supports other local Indigenous business owners, creators, storytellers and knowledge keepers. My goal is to bring the community together in a safe and brave space where we can learn, grow, and heal in a commitment to spread unconditional love. I encourage you to stop living in default and start living on purpose so that you can manifest the life you desire.
What brought you to the region?
I was born and raised in Belleville, and while I travelled and lived in different places in Canada in my early 20s, I came back to the Quinte Region to raise my children and stay connected with family and friends. This is my home.
What makes the Bay of Quinte a good fit for your business?
The Bay Of Quinte is a great place for my business because I am a member of Mohawks of the Bay Of Quinte and a large part of my business is bridging a gap I see within the two communities. The Bay Of Quinte is my home, where I was raised and where I want to create a beautiful life while doing my part to raise the energy of myself continuously, in hopes that it spreads to everyone around me and beyond through the HighVibe classes, workshops and sessions I offer at my studio.

Some of Melissa’s digital artwork. She also paints murals and you might see some more popping up around the region soon!
What was the hardest thing about starting a business?
The hardest thing about starting a business for me has been to stop giving away things for free and to make use of technology to set up systems and websites that provide ease and flow. I am moving forward with gratitude, taking baby steps and doing what feels right for me and my unique business. I appreciate the easy and difficult parts to owning a business. I used to struggle with extreme anxiety, PTSD, and OCD and I am so proud of myself for owning my truth, taking a leap, running with it and adjusting as I go!
What advice do you have for entrepreneurs in the area?
Do not compare yourself or worry about what anyone else is doing. You do not need to compete for a space, just start shining, start sharing and start owning your truth. Things align for you when you align with the feeling you want to feel in life, not the specific outcome. So focus on joy, love and abundance and watch magic happen!
How do you like to spend your days off?
I love to enjoy the beautiful green spaces in the BoQ and there are so many around I wouldn’t be able to name them all! I appreciate the beauty that surrounds us and I love to bring my hula hoops out to explore. I always end up sharing my love of hoops and the best part is watching others light up when they try it too. This region offers so many opportunities to get outside and connect with Mother Earth, the community and the nature around us.
If you were to have one word tattooed on you, what would it be?
