Downtown Trenton has reinvented itself over the past few years to become a major hotspot in the Quinte area. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or love a good meal on a patio, Trenton has got you covered. With everything from book stores & clothing boutiques to pubs & live music venues, you can be sure you’ll find lots to do in Downtown Trenton. Here’s a list of some of my favourite spots around town.

Cafés
If you’re looking for a cool spot to grab a coffee, The Grind Café is a place to go. They serve delicious lunches & snacks to satisfy that sweet tooth. You can even grab some friends and enjoy a chill evening sipping coffee and listening to live music every Friday.
The Riverbrake Café is great for enjoying breakfast outside. This is one of the few spots in the Quinte area that allows you to have a delicious breakfast on a patio, overlooking the beautiful Trent River & Bay of Quinte. They serve breakfast and lunch offering a wide variety of daily specials.

Groceries
Grab some local fare from stores around the downtown area. The Quinte West Farmers’ Market is open Wednesday and Saturday morning in Market Square from the first Saturday in May until the last Saturday in October. Pick up your fresh fruits and veggies, breads & homemade household products.
From there, skip around the corner to Trenton Delicatessen for all kinds of European goods which includes meats and cheeses.

Adventuring
Get outside! In Downtown Trenton you’ll find an abundance of parks, landmarks and lots of water. For some on the water adventures head over to One Shot Tactical where you can rent paddleboards, kayaks and other outdoor summer and winter sports equipment. Or if you’re feeling some on land adventure Mount Pelion is great for hiking, biking & some seriously great panoramic views of Quinte West.

The parks in Trenton always have something going and lots of weekend events, especially over the summer. Centennial Park is a hub of activity in the city; the park is the home of Trenchtown Wake Park, here you can shred the water on their new 2.0 Cable System. This Park is also home to everything a kid could need in the summertime! Sports Fields, Mini Golf, Canteen and a Splash Pad!

Across the River, Fraser & Bayshore Park are great spots to grab an ice cream cone and watch the boats go by. Right around the corner, The Trent Port Marina will be hosting live music every Thursday night for the entire summer!

Dining
Downtown Trenton has so many great restaurants that serve all kinds of delicious foods, from sushi to fish and chips and everything in between!
The Port Bistro Pub is the spot for great craft beer. This Gastropub carries a variety of local and regional craft beers & wines, and has an amazing menu. Join some friends for a drink on the patio or listen to some live music on Friday nights.

Next door, Tomasso’s Italian Grille is one of the best spots for fine dining in the Quinte region. Located on the banks of the Trent River, this long standing restaurant has a great patio where you can enjoy some beautiful views with your meal. The spectacular traditional Italian cooking will nt disappoint. If you’re looking for some take out, try Tomasso’s & Jims Pizzeria for the same great taste in the comfort of your own home.
