Trenchtown Wake Park
Trenchtown Wake Park is now entering its third season offering its unique brand of wakeboarding—one where folks are pulled along by a cable.
Owned and operated by lifetime residents of the area, Niko Horning and Will McLaird, Trenchtown is located at the new Trent Port Marina near the entrance to the Trent-Severn Waterway.
“We knew a little about running a business ahead of time, but actually starting from scratch and putting it all down on paper was totally different from anything we had done before. We knew there would be all sorts of challenges and understood that it would be a learning experience,” Horning said.
He added that the pair received significant help from Trenval, the City of Quinte West and local businesses in getting the wake park off the ground. “We spent about six years searching for a property all over North America, and then right here in Trenton they decided they were going to build a new marina. It’s something we would have that nobody else would.”
This adrenaline-filled attraction proves that a good idea, a smart business plan, hard work and community collaboration can make dreams come true.
