The Quinte Region Commuter Challenge

The Quinte Region Commuter Challenge

The Commuter Challenge is a friendly annual competition between workplaces and Canadian cities that celebrates active transportation and promotes sustainable ways of commuting to reduce single occupancy vehicle trips. The event takes place the first week of June and will run from May 31st – June 6th, 2015 in the cities of Quinte West and Belleville.

All individuals participating in the Commuter Challenge will be entered to win over $800 in prizes, ranging from a free 3-month family membership to the YMCA with personal training sessions, two free nights of camping at the Depot Lakes Quinte Conservation Area, or a pair of tickets to summer shows at the Stirling Festival Theatre.

2014 saw 14 Bay of Quinte area workplaces register and over 140 participants. Now in its fourth year, the Quinte Region Commuter Challenge is seeking active workplaces to lace up their shoes and hop on the saddle to contribute to their healthy communities. Whether you cycle year-round or consider yourself a fair weather rider, every active commute helps!

Join in on the sustainable fun, and register yourself or your workplace here.
